Torque Limiter Coupling
« Back to Glossary
Torque limiter couplings are a protective torque limiting device, that limits the torque within a drive system by slipping at times when the torque demand exceeds the preset value. This is a result of shock loads, overloads or machine jams.
It automatically re-engages once the overload torque has passed, the main benefit of this is that it resets itself and no interaction is needed for this to happen. It eliminates breakdown costs and minimises machine damages.
